This was disclosed in a statement released by the Director of Press, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Patricia Deworitshe on Thursday.

According to the statement, new Board nominees will be announced soon by the government in line with section 5(2) of the NDDC Act, 2000.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions had summoned the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Umana Okon Umana over allegations of non-performance and corruption.

This was made known on Wednesday by the Chairman of the panel, Senator Ayo Akinyelure, who stated this at a news conference in Abuja.

He revealed that the committee had met and resolved that the minister should be invited based on the strength of a petition against him.

The Senator added that the committee had agreed to ensure the matter was accorded an accelerated hearing.
