He berated Obi for donating items like loaves of bread and noodles to flood victims as a former governor of the state.

Bashir Ahmad, Special Assistant on Digital Communication to President Muhammadu Buhari has knocked the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi for the items he donated to flood victims in his state.

Bashir who stated this in a series of tweets on Sunday berated Obi for donating items like loaves of bread and noodles to flood victims as a former governor of the state.

"A former governor and presidential candidate donating a grinding machine and 24 loaves of bread to thousands of flood victims, Comrade, we are in 2022 for God’s sake. We urge you to respect your family and correct it.

"Wow. Four bags of rice, 14 cartons of Indomie noodles, around 50 set of blankets, 24 loaves of bread, a generator among other unverified stuff donated to thousands of families affected by floods in Anambra by a former governor of the state and a current presidential candidate," Bashir tweeted.

He later tweeted, “I am not a billionaire neither a former chairman of my local government, but I am doing more for my community in their time of need, than that former governor and presidential candidate. You can ‘Go and VERIFY.’”

This tweet from Bashir has generated a lot of reactions from Obi's supporters.

A Twitter user, @Andy Obuoforibo, said, "Emphasising "a former Governor" shows you that Bashir sees Government as an avenue for theft. Unsurprising, since he fraudulently kept drawing a Government salary after leaving Government."

"Bashir Ahmad has done noth!ng to assistant the flood victims, & Buhari who's suppose to be visiting the flooded states has jetted out to South Korea; But he's busy shading Peter Obi. This same Bashir dines with a govt that hijacked the donated COVID-19 palliatives. What a cl¤wn," another Twitter user, Daniel Regha added.

SaharaReporters had reported how a rampant flood situation across the country ravaged many communities, washed away farmland and destroyed people’s property.

Commuters passing through these communities have been made to take longer routes to get to their destinations.

Many roads were washed away, and many farmlands, houses, vehicles and other structures also succumbed to the overpowering effect of flooding.
