The victims were identified as Aminu Ahmed and Ibrahim Ahmed Bugaje.

Terrorists have allegedly killed two brothers at Bugaje village in the Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina state.

The victims were identified as Aminu Ahmed and Ibrahim Ahmed Bugaje.

According to Bugaje’s neighbour, Salisu Yusuf in a Facebook post, he left behind a wife and twins.

"Yesterday, my immediate neighbour at Katsina was gruesomely killed. He had gone to a town in Jibia Local Government Area looking for a daily bread. He was killed at Bugaje village by the bandits. Death comes with consequences,” he posted.

“He left behind his wife and twins. I couldn't sleep through the night because of the shrieking cries of the widow; it was so moving and heart-rending that I still hear the echoes of the cry; the cry reveals her frustration, anger, dejection, loneliness, and disillusionment with life.

“It evinces both sympathy and empathy. While crying, I felt the woman might have been thinking of her loss of the breadwinner who had been at his best. She might have been thinking of coping in a society full of hostile givers.

“A blind beggar once told me of how terrible it felt to beg from hostile givers as he couldn't be employed because he had not gone through a formal education; he neither prosper in an informal economy because he hadn't the capacity and the means to work effectively. He was a blind! What's my fault? He said.

“The woman is unjustly robbed of a husband, the twins are robbed of a father figure, and we are robbed of a brotherly neighbour. May the Merciful Lord forgive our dead and save us from these heartless men.”

Katsina, despite being the home state of President Muhammadu Buhari, has witnessed sporadic attacks by bandits and kidnappers that have claimed the lives of many.
