Anti-Narcotic Agency, NDLEA Nabs 130 Drug Suspects In Kaduna

The agency’s Commander in the state, Mr Umar Adoro, stated this on Wednesday in Kaduna, the state capital, adding that seven of the arrested suspects were females, while the agency also dismantled 20 notorious drug joints and sealed seven properties linked to drug traffickers.
 

Nigeria’s anti-narcotics agency, the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has said that its operatives arrested 130 suspected drug dealers in Kaduna State in October with illicit drugs weighing 1,728.536kg.
The agency’s Commander in the state, Mr Umar Adoro, stated this on Wednesday in Kaduna, the state capital, adding that seven of the arrested suspects were females, while the agency also dismantled 20 notorious drug joints and sealed seven properties linked to drug traffickers.
Adoro further said that the agency recovered fake N1,000 notes totaling N300,000 from the suspected drug traffickers.
According to the NDLEA Commander, the drugs seized include 1,388.811kg of Indian hemp, 0.019kg of Cocaine, 0.001kg of heroin, 7.666kg of Tramadol, 331.786kg of other psychotropic substances and 0.253kg of Methamphetamine.
He also said that the agency conducted sensitisation programmes in secondary schools in Kafanchan, Kaduna and Zaria, among other towns and cities.
Appealing to residents of the state to provide timely and useful information on illicit drug dealers to the agency to enable it to take prompt action, Adoro advised parents and guardians to always be watchful over their wards and the companies that they kept.
The Commander reiterated the agency’s commitment to the war against drug trafficking and consumption.
