Gunmen Attack Nigerian Civil Defence, NSCDC Personnel, Disarm Two Officers

The state spokesperson of NSCDC in Enugu, Denny Manuel Iwuchukwu, confirmed the incident.

Some gunmen have reportedly attacked two personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC and disarmed them in Enugu State.

The incident, SaharaReporters gathered, happened on Sunday night at WTC housing estate in the Ohio New layout.

The NSCDC personnel were said to be providing security to the estate which is located inside the state capital.

Sources from the estate told SaharaReporters that the hoodlums injured the two personnel and subsequently made away with their guns.

 

Although the injured personnel were reported to have been taken to a nearby hospital where they are currently receiving treatment, SaharaReporters could not ascertain the actual time the attack occurred.

 

Meanwhile, the state spokesperson of NSCDC in Enugu, Denny Manuel Iwuchukwu, confirmed the incident.

 

According to him, the personnel were seriously injured in the attack and are currently hospitalised.

 

He said that investigation had been launched to unravel the circumstances that led to the attack.
