An American rapper and producer, Curtis James Jackson III, popularly known as 50 Cent, has disclosed that he will soon produce a movie series centred on the convicted Nigerian notorious internet fraudster, Ramon Abass, popularly known as Hushpuppi.

The popular artist made this known on Wednesday on his Instagram page where he shared photos of Hushpuppi with the expensive cars he acquired with the proceeds of his fraud before he was arrested.

50 Cent said, “For my scammers I gotta do this one, Hushpuppy series coming soon! GLG, Green Light Gang I don’t miss. #Bransoncognac #lecheminduroi #gunitfilmandtv.”

This comes about 48 hours after Hushpuppi was convicted and sentenced to 11 years in prison by the United States District Court for the Central District of California for conspiring to launder tens of millions of dollars from online scams.

The judgment draws the curtain on Hushpuppi’s trial spanning two years and four months since his arrest in June 2020 at his Dubai hotel apartment. The notorious Nigerian fraudster, Hushpuppi was arrested for defrauding many people, particularly for his involvement in a conspiracy to defraud a Qatari businessman of more than $1m.

Hushpuppi, who was extradited to the US for trial on July 3, 2020, pleaded guilty in April 2021 to one count of conspiracy to engage in money laundering.

Hushpuppi, since his arrest and extradition to the US has been in federal custody while his trial was going on for the past two years and on Monday, Justice Otis Wright II, of the US District Court for the Central District of California convicted him and sentenced him to 11 years and three months in federal prison.

This is despite having contracted a top Washington, D.C. criminal defence attorney, John Iweanoge in September in a bid to avoid the 11 years sentence suggested by the United States prosecutors.
