
Gunmen in their number on Monday morning invaded the Obudi Agwa community in Oguta LGA of Imo State killing the monarch of the community and his two guests.
There was apprehension in Obudi, Agwa community in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo state as gunmen on Monday invaded the community and killed its traditional ruler, Eze Ignatius Asor.
The gunmen, SaharaReporters gathered, also killed two of the monarch's guests.
Community sources told SaharaReporters that the hoodlums who stormed the palace in the early hours of Monday operated in motorbikes and vehicles.
One of the sources said the gunmen zoomed off immediately after hitting their target.
A resident of the community, Mr Marcel Obi, who confirmed the attack to SaharaReporters on Monday, described the death of the royal father as a big loss to the entire Agwa community.
He said, "He was such a good man; he has helped to curb the incessant insecurity situation we have been experiencing in this our community; it's a pity he is gone."
Also confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relation Officer, Mike Abattam said the police are already on the trail of the hoodlums with the clues in possession.
"Yes, it's true but the police is already investigating the matter, we have clues already and we are on their trail," he said.
