The remains of Adamu's body were discovered on Tuesday dangling on a tree in a nearby bush in Girei, in the Girei Local Government Area of the state.

A 34-year-old man, identified as Iliya Adamu, has hanged himself after he was accused of stealing his brother's N40,000 in Adamawa State, SaharaReporters has learnt.

The remains of Adamu's body were discovered on Tuesday dangling on a tree in a nearby bush in Girei, in the Girei Local Government Area of the state.

Adamu reportedly resorted to suicide because he could not withstand being mocked and called a thief. His brother was said to have fingered him in the disappearance of N40,000 kept in a family safe.

After repeated denial of stealing the money, Adamu decided to end his life to wade off embarrassment.

Neighbours were greeted with horrific news of his lifeless body found to be dangling on a tree, Tuesday morning, after he disappeared for two days.

Sources said that a container of insecticide was found under the tree where his lifeless body hanged.

Spokesperson for the Adamawa state Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje has confirmed the incident, saying "The command is investigating the suicide."
