Don't Interfere With Selection Process Of Next King, Lagos Royal Family Tells Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Government

The family is also accusing the state government of trying to impose one of stooges of ex-state governor, Bola Tinubu as the next king.

The Oloto Royal Family of Otto and Lagos Mainland has urged the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led Lagos State Government not to interfere with the selection process for a new monarch.

The royal family, in a letter to the governor, said the family is capable of selecting the next king.

The family is also accusing the state government of trying to impose one of stooges of ex-state governor, Bola Tinubu, who they identified as Bashiru Oloto, as the next king and warned against meddling in their family affair.

Warning against imposing stooge they reminded the state government, the Baalo Ruling House is next in line to provide the next king and ancestry order should not be truncated.

The letter to the state government reads, "We have resolved to stand by the extant law and statues guiding the stool and to protect the order of rotation.

"The Baalo Ruling House is the next in line to legally occupy the stool and shall exercise its rights to do so.

"We urge the Lagos State Government to allow the Baalo Ruling House to produce the next Oloto of Otto in accordance with the terms of the declaration without interference."

The family noted that while there is a case instituted in court challenging the selection process, members of the family have resolved to find an amicable settlement.

"A series of consultation has taken place which has resulted in a meeting of representatives of the Baalo Ruling House...whereby it was agreed that a resolution would be achieved within a few weeks about our choice.

"We are appealing to the Lagos State Government to allow the Oloto Royal Family resolve its issues that are pending within itself and all we seek is that they provide the necessary support for us in that regards," the family added.
