The party claimed that despite its challenges, it would wrestle power from the Peoples Democratic Party which controlled the state government by 2023.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State has confirmed that candidates and chieftains of the party met with the First Lady, Aisha Buhari, amid the crisis rocking the party.

The APC chairman in the state, Samaila Tadawus, who confirmed the meeting between the leaders of the party and Mrs Buhari, said it centred on how to reposition the party for victory in the 2023 general elections.

The party claimed that despite its challenges, it would wrestle power from the Peoples Democratic Party which controlled the state government by 2023.

Tadawus said, “We are reassuring our teeming members and supporters that the party is repositioning very well for the battle to save our dear state from the misrule of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“Consultation with stakeholders and other party leaders is ongoing to ensure that our party does not only get into the election as a united force but also comes out successful at all levels.

"All candidates of the party were dully invited to the meeting (with Mrs Aisha Buhari) and we are grateful that majority of the candidates, executive members and other senior stakeholders honoured the invitation.”

SaharaReporters had on November 4 reported that the APC presidential, Bola Tinubu, sacked Senator Aisha Ahmed Dahiru, popularly called Binani as the presidential council’s campaign coordinator for Adamawa State.

The development had come barely 12 hours after SaharaReporters reported that the executive committee of the APC in the state rejected the female senator as coordinator and members of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) led by her in the state.

SaharaReporters had earlier reported that the Adamawa State chapter of APC rejected the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) list for the state, headed by Binani.

Reacting to the story, the party's presidential candidate, Tinubu, replaced Binani with a former Adamawa state deputy governor, Martin Babale.

A letter to that effect signed by the Plateau State governor who doubles as the Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council and seen by SaharaReporters, had read in part, "Appointment to serve as Adamawa state Interim Coordinator for Tinubu/Shetima Presidential Campaign Council.

"By way of this letter, I'm pleased to formally convey your appointment as Adamawa state Coordinator of Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.

"This appointment is fitting and appropriate, given your impressive political achievement and the exemplary leadership you have demonstrated as a major pillar of the party.

"We are confident that your wealth of experience will impact greatly on our mission to drive an effective message-driven campaign."
