The famous American singer and fashion designer, Kanye West has announced his plans to run for US president in 2024.

West, whose announcement follows his previous unsuccessful attempt, said he is currently working on his campaign with controversial commentator Milo Yiannopoulos

According to the Mirror, the rapper, legally known as Ye, confirmed his plans in a video posted to Twitter on Sunday. He said he has enlisted the help of far-right commentator Yiannopoulos for his campaign.

In the clip, 45-year-old Kanye says the former Breitbart News editor has already got to work on the plans.

"This is Milo right here, working on the campaign," Ye said in the video, which was posted by the Twitter account PatriotTakes. One of the men in the clip asked if it was an official announcement.

"I guess it is," Milo replied before adding, "Thanks, I accept."

Kanye West slammed for 'shalom' tweet after Twitter ban for antisemitic posts

The cameraman then asked Kanye if he would be running to which he replied: "Yes. It's simple 'cause ain’t nobody can tell me, you know, 'You should say this, you shouldn’t say that,' you know?

"It’s just, we’re moving towards the future."

In 2020, rapper Kanye West voted for himself as the next U.S. president after a long-shot campaign marked by erratic statements and speculation that he might siphon some Black votes from Democrat Joe Biden.

The singer and fashion designer appeared to concede his 2020 bid had ended but suggested his quest was not over. He posted a picture of himself in front of an electoral map saying “WELP KANYE 2024.”

He earlier tweeted that he was “voting for the first time in my life for the President of the United States, and it’s for someone I truly trust ... me.”

He later posted a video of himself casting his vote in Cody, Wyoming, where he wrote himself in on the ballot.

West, 43, got onto the presidential ballot in a handful of states, although not in battlegrounds like Florida, Pennsylvania and Michigan. He has spent recent weeks instructing followers how to vote for him as a write-in candidate elsewhere.
