According to the AAC presidential candidate, despite selling almost all Nigeria’s public assets, Atiku did not assist any Nigerian youth.

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) for the 2023 general elections has warned Nigerians to beware of people he described as political hustlers and scammers.

Sowore, who gave the warning on Tuesday, said that his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, Atiku Abubakar and many other politicians who had held one top position or the other in the country had no reasonable plans for Nigerians, especially the youths.

He said that as a Vice President, Atiku worked with the former President, Olusegun Obasanjo and sold over 147 public enterprises in Nigeria between 1999 and 2007 below their original values.

According to the AAC presidential candidate, despite selling almost all Nigeria’s public assets, Atiku did not assist any Nigerian youth.

Sowore said this while reacting to Atiku’s proposition that if elected the next president in 2023, he would sell all Nigeria’s refineries to raise $10 billion funds for the youths.

Atiku while speaking on Monday during PDP’s presidential rally in Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, reportedly said he will earmark $10 billion from the refinery sales to empower the small and medium-scale enterprises of young Nigerians.

“People are asking me where am I going to get $10 billion? If I privatise Port Harcourt refinery, Warri refinery, Kaduna refinery, I am going to get the money,” Atiku was quoted as saying.

Reacting to Atiku’s proposal, Sowore said, “Nigerians must not fall for these political hustlers & scammers, @atiku/Obasanjo “privatised” over 147 public enterprises when they were in power between 1999-2007, these enterprises were sold at below their original value. Which youth(s) did they assist?”
