SaharaReporters reported that Doguwa who is the majority leader in the House of Representatives threatened to violently deal with those who may not vote for the APC in the next year general elections.

The lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 8th Assembly of the Nigeria Senate, Senator Shehu Sani, has demanded that the House of Representatives leader, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, retract his violence threat against people of Kano State who fail to vote All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the 2023 general elections.

SaharaReporters reported that Doguwa who is the majority leader in the House of Representatives threatened to violently deal with those who may not vote for the APC in the next year general elections.

Doguwa, who has been representing Tudun Wada/Doguwa constituency in Kano State in the National Assembly and has been a lawmaker for no fewer than two decades, was heard in a viral video inciting party supporters to deal with anyone who would not be voting for the APC.

Doguwa was heard saying that "On the election day, it's either you vote for APC or you are dealt with."

Reacting to the threat, Senator Sani condemned the threat, describing it as unfortunate and a serious threat to peaceful elections, and therefore demanded that the lawmaker withdraw the threat statement.

Sani said, “The threat to deal with anyone who refuses to vote for the ruling APC in Kano is unfortunate and a serious threat to peaceful elections. I advise the ranking Honorable member involved, who is still a lawmaker for over two decades to withdraw this statement.”
