Kanu’s Special Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor disclosed this after meeting the IPOB leader in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja.

The leader of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has decried the killings and destruction of properties by non-state actors in the South-East region.

Kanu’s Special Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor disclosed this after meeting the IPOB leader in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja.

Some people have been reportedly killed by miscreants enforcing the five-day sit-at-home order issued by one self-acclaimed IPOB member, Simon Ekpa, despite opposition by the group.

Ejimakor’s hometown in Urualla, Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State was also invaded by armed men who set a market ablaze, destroyed properties and attacked his kinsmen on Friday.

Gunmen also attacked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Imo State and killed three at the weekend.

In a similar occurrence, popular Nollywood actor, Osita Iheme’s elder brother, Prince Iheme was killed by unknown gunmen who attacked Owerri, Mbaitoli.

The attack was the third in the state in the last few weeks.

Kanu, according to Ejimakor, was sad about the violence in the region and sympathised with the victims.

“I had a visitation with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu today. With profound sadness, he received news of the staggered attacks of past few days across South-East, including the one at my hometown.

“He asked me to strongly condemn the attacks on his behalf and convey his comfort to all the victims,” Ejimakor wrote on Twitter.
