The group, a non-partisan and non-profitable organisation, announced its endorsement on Friday, in Katsina State, the home state of incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari, who is in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Youths from 19 Northern States and Abuja, under the aegis of Arewa Youth Advocacy for Good Governance, have endorsed the candidacy of the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, for the 2023 election.
The group, a non-partisan and non-profitable organisation, announced its endorsement on Friday, in Katsina State, the home state of incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari, who is in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
It described the AAC presidential candidate as a young, vibrant, articulate, energetic and talented leader that Nigeria needs. It, however, regretted that "Nigeria is a great country with different tribes and religions; a country with minerals, lands to farm, forest and all natural blessings of soil, but we are still today as yesterday, no developments, no jobs, no standard education no security no peace and above all no unity".
In a statement posted on its Facebook page, titled: "Hello Good People Of Katsina..!!!," the group said Sowore deserves to be Nigeria’s leader in 2023.
According to the group, Sowore doesn't pretend and has knowledge of how to fix the country for the betterment of all Nigerians irrespective of their ethnic, religious or political background.
The statement read, "I have some big deal to tell (you) about a good man of future not only for him but the future great and beloved nation, Sowore is not a fake promiser, not a political liability or weaker, he is a dedicated, astonishing and indeed a savior.
"Sowore deserves to be a leader, he is young, youthful, mature, experienced and fabulous. I wish my brothers and sisters of my beloved state will join me in this battle, it's not only a battle of politics but a rescue movement for the future to produce a good governable (sic) with great authority of unifacial because he is unifiable and settler, I believe Sowore is a Nigerians comforter...
"Nigeria is a great country with different tribes and religions, a country with minerals, lands to farm, forest and all natural blessings of soil, but we are still today as yesterday, no developments no jobs no standard education no security no peace and no unity...
"I believe and pray that my wish of being among the war soldiers of Sowore to rescue Nigeria from the unseen dark to seeing the light of democracy.
"I call with loud voice to all good people of Katsina State to join the rescue of our homeland for a better future.”
The group, in a message to the ACC, said it has “already announced our presidential candidate to people in Katsina and we have begun to get support from every part of Katsina so we would like to have an appointment with your candidate and we will come to Abuja from Katsina to present you some of our support and talk about how to get more support and votes from people in Katsina”.
