The group has already met with and presented its seven-point agenda along with the demands.

Popular herders’ union, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) says it has not endorsed any presidential candidate ahead of the 2023 general elections.

This was made known by the President of the organisation, Baba Othman Ngelzarma, while speaking with journalists in Abuja on Saturday. Ngelzarma said MACBAN will announce its preferred presidential candidate before the 2023 elections.

Ngelzarma said the group has already met with and presented its seven-point agenda along with the demands of pastoralists to the presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress, Peoples Democratic Party and New Nigeria People’s Party, Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar and Rabiu Kwankwaso respectively.

He said, "My administration would operate under the CORE agenda. CORE means Consultation, Orientation, Reintegration and Empowerment. As part of the consultation, I met some presidential candidates.

“I have presented our demands to Bola Tinubu (APC) at the town hall meeting in Minna, Niger State.

“I have met Atiku Abubakar (PDP), Kwankwaso (NNPP) personally and discussed with them.

"It's only Peter Obi of Labour Party I have not met, I hope to meet him soon, but our demands have been submitted.

“Let me make it clear: we have not endorsed any candidate. We will do so in February, before the election.

“This would be after we’ve analysed their plans and got their responses to our requests,” he added.

In 2018, MACBAN endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of the 2019 general elections.
