Are We Asking For Too Much? By Allen Sowore Esq.

Yesterday- 15th December,2022, I led some patriotic and responsible citizens in the series of our interventions to make government accountable to the people. The focus was on the general lackadaisical attitude to work of the Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs Bamidele Ademola-Olateju and specifically her refusal or reluctance to give basic and accurate facts about the N27.8 OIL DERIVATION REFUND paid to the State by the Federal Government.

It's good that before the day run out, she indeed signed her 3rd press statement since her assumption of office more than one year ago. Perhaps she will now take her work more seriously henceforth only time will tell.

However, our single, simple and legitimate demand as stakeholders and responsible citizens is yet unattended to.

For the purposes of emphasis and clarity, we are humbly demanding for an official press statement from the Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, telling the good people of the state the actual amount received so far from the Federation Account if the N27.8 ( TWENTY SEVEN BILLION EIGHT HUNDRED MILLION NAIRA ONLY) the Presidency said it has released was incorrect.

To be candid, please tell me, are we asking for too much ?
