How Buhari Government Impoverished Nigerian Parents, Made Them Lose Authority Over Their Children – AAC Presidential Candidate, Sowore

Sowore said that Nigerians parents under President Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) government had been impoverished.

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 general elections, has said that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Nigerian government has made Nigerian parents lose their parental ability over their children.

Sowore, while speaking on the Brekete Family Programme, said that Nigerians parents under President Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) government had been impoverished to the extent that they no longer could afford to feed their children, hence, turning young Nigerians into taking control over their parents.

The AAC presidential candidate said that by virtue of Nigerian parents’ failure to raise their children due to a failed government, they had lost control of their children as they now had to look away from whatever their children were doing.

The human rights activist and #RevolutionNow convener said, “When you ask if there are no parents in this country anymore; there are but the young people in this country today are the ones raising themselves and their parents.

“The reason is because of the level of deprivation in this country. Have you asked why parents of these young girls look the other way? Because most of them are the ones feeding their parents; they are the ones buying them recharge cards, paying for their hospital bills.

“How can parents have moral authority to control their children when the children are the ones feeding them, paying house rent for them? They have lost that ability to parents and it is Nigeria that happened to them.”
