SaharaReporters had reported how armed killer herdsmen turned the community into killing field, killing the residents in large numbers and forcing the residents to desert the community, while the army and the police continued to accuse the IPOB’s Eastern Security Network (ESN) of being responsible for the attacks and killings.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has accused the Nigerian Army of being the mastermind of the attacks and gruesome killings going on in Eha-Amufu community in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State.

SaharaReporters had reported how armed killer herdsmen turned the community into killing field, killing the residents in large numbers and forcing the residents to desert the community, while the army and the police continued to accuse the IPOB’s Eastern Security Network (ESN) of being responsible for the attacks and killings.

Reacting to the incident which has become an issue of public concern across the state and the South East region at large, IPOB in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful on Saturday accused the Nigerian Army of collaborating with the killer-herders to commit the heinous act.

IPOB said that “The Nigeria Military masterminded the Fulani herdsmen terrorist genocidal attacks against the innocent people in Eha-Amufu community in Enugu State.”

According to the Biafran group, “The attack in Eha-Amufu was coordinated by Nigeria military and Fulani terrorists herdsmen. From the viral video, there is evidence that the Nigeria Special Forces were seen together with some Fulani herdsmen shouting for joy in Hausa language after the attack in Eha Amufu.

“From eyewitnesses’ accounts, Nigerian soldiers invaded the community and destroyed the gate leading to the community, and beat up some people. Soon after the Nigeria military destroyed the community's gate, Fulani herdsmen armed to the teeth invaded the community, killing, burning, and looting properties.

“The Nigeria Army Commander of 82 Division Enugu State, Major Musa Umar, deployed the soldiers who created a way for the terrorists to invade a peaceful community. This military commander has been intimidating and killing the people of Biafra and IPOB members more especially the people of Eha Amufu, for resisting Fulani takeover of their ancestral land.”

IPOB therefore stated that the general public should ask the Nigerian Army why they destroyed the keys used to lock the community's gate before the Fulani herdsmen invaded the community.

It insisted that “The military intentionally broke the community's gate to create access for Fulani herdsmen to freely troop into the community and launch the attacks. The deployment of soldiers to the peaceful community was the handiwork of Major Umar Musa, the GOC 82 Division Enugu.

“More so, we are warning Uwazuoke son of Eddy Okonta from Ngbuji to desist from his sabotage work. This traitor is working with the terrorist Army to arrest and kill the community's youths who are protecting the community, thereby giving advantage to Fulani herdsmen who have come to conquer and take over their land.”

IPOB threatened that “We shall give him a traitor's treatment in due time. The enemy called Uwazuoke and  Igwe Ossai of Ngbuji community are working with Nigeria Army and Fulani terrorists to kill innocent citizens of Eha Amufu.

“We are warning Igwe Ossai of Ngbuji Community in Eha Mufu to retrace  his steps from selling off his community or receive the rewards of sabotage in due time.

“The Nigerian Army is working hard to help Fulani jihadists to slaughter and take over communities in Biafra land, but as long as IPOB is concerned, it's an agenda that is dead on arrival.”

SaharaReporters has made several efforts to get the Nigerian Army’s comments on the situation in Eha-Amufu community, through its spokespersons in Enugu State and at the national level but all the efforts had proven abortive as none of the spokespersons responded to text messages sent to them or answered phone calls made to their phone numbers.
