Joseph Mersa Marley, a grandson to the late Jamaican reggae music legend, Bob Marley, has been confirmed dead after he was found unresponsive in a vehicle in the United States on Tuesday. 

Joseph, who till his death, was a Jamaican-American reggae artist at the age of 31.

Daily Mail reports that the artist who is popularly known by his stage name, Jo Mersa, had reportedly suffered from asthma his entire life, and the Florida radio station, WZPP claimed he died of an asthma attack.

Joseph Mersa is the grandson of the iconic reggae musician, Bob Marley and the son of Bob Marley’s son, Stephen Marley.

Recall that Bob Marley who is widely considered as one of the pioneers of reggae music in the world died of cancer in 1981 at the age of 36 but before his death, Bob had 11 children with seven different partners.

Daily Mail further gave details of Joseph Mersa Marley’s life before his death, noting that he spent his early years in Jamaica where he attended Saints Peter and Paul Preparatory School before moving to Florida where he was a student at Palmetto High School.

When at Miami Dade College, he studied studio engineering, and in 2014 he released the EP called Comfortable and in 2021 he came out with Eternal.
