In a viral video, the preacher is heard calling on the youths to attack his enemies and teach them a bitter lesson.

Houses and foodstuffs estimated at over N200 million have been burnt allegedly on the orders of a Christian preacher, Emmanuel Nachamada Musa in Adamawa State.

SaharaReporters learnt that the cleric, who is the President of Emnamu Foundation, a charity organisation, at a crusade last week in Kala'a town in the Hong Local Government of the state, allegedly instigated congregants to kill and burn down houses belonging to perceived enemies and those practising witchcraft in the community.

During the crusade, some persons who were reportedly mentioned and identified as enemies of the preacher were allegedly accused of practising witchcraft, following which some youths moved to their houses and set them ablaze.

SaharaReporters learnt that no life was lost but at least three houses were burnt along with some shops and vehicles.

In a viral video, the preacher is heard calling on the youths to attack his enemies and teach them a bitter lesson.

"They (witches and wizards) want to kill me; youths, what's your reaction? Retaliate, retaliate. If someone slaps you once, slap them twice to serve as a deterrent," the cleric charged the youths.

One of the victims of the incitement, Isaac Edmond Hyellandendu, said his house and two shops, estimated to be worth millions of naira were destroyed by the youths.

"A preacher claiming to be a prophet came to town to conduct a crusade. He was heavily guarded by the police, soldiers, civil defence operatives, among others.

"While conducting his meeting, some us were mentioned as those practising witchcraft, that we were planning to kill him; as such, he charged the youths to act fast and eliminate us.

"Following the incitement, some youths from the crusade ground shouting fire, fire, went berserk and set fire to my house and two shops. As it is, I've lost everything," Hyellandendu said.

Besides admitting that there was a fire outbreak after the crusade, the police have been reluctant to provide further details.

SaharaReporters, however, learnt that the controversial preacher was recently honoured by the state police command for renovating parts of its headquarters in Yola.

Calls made by SaharaReporters to get the cleric, Musa on the phone for comment were not answered. Text messages sent to him were not replied to as of the time of filing this report.
