Suleiman added that he was awaiting demolition of the building any moment from now.

A member of the House of Representatives from Kaduna State, Samaila Suleiman, has accused the governor of the state, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of revoking his residence’s Certificate of Occupancy (C of O).

The lawmaker disclosed this in a Facebook post on Friday.

Suleiman added that he was awaiting demolition of the building any moment from now.

He posted, “I am in receipt of letter from my Governor, H.E Nasir El-Rufa'i revoking the Right Of Occupancy of my residence in Kawo New Extension, Kaduna.

“We are expecting demolition any moment. We are full of strength and thankful to Allah for his continued blessings. “Power is transient. Power can flow from one person to another.”

The lawmaker who represents Kaduna North Federal Constituency had in March dumped the All Progressives Congress after El-Rufai insisted on replacing him with his son, Bello, in the 2023 general elections.

Suleiman, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Special Duties, in a letter dated March 8, 2022, addressed to the state’s APC Chairman, Emmanuel Jekada, stated that his decision followed the breakdown of internal democracy and factionalisation of the party at all levels.

In the letter, attached with his APC membership card, which was copied to the APC chairman of Kaduna North Local Government Area and the ward chairman of Unguwan Sarki, Suleiman stated that his resignation was with immediate effect.

Weeks after his resignation, he moved to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and picked the House of Representatives ticket of the party.

He is expected to face Bello, the son of the governor in the 2023 general elections.
