Amaechi was among the presidential hopefuls of the ruling party but he lost in the primary election which was held in June 2022.

A former Minister of Transportation and former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi on Monday attended a campaign rally in support for Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Amaechi was among the presidential hopefuls of the ruling party but he lost in the primary election which was held in June 2022.

This was the first time Rotimi Amaechi would attend the campaign rallies of the ruling party since the flag-off in Jos, Plateau State, in November 2022.

Speaking at the rally, the party’s presidential candidate, Tinubu, had vowed to end the incessant killings and kidnapping in Nigeria if elected as the country’s president in February.

“There will be end to killing and kidnapping,” he had promised.

Tinubu also promised to provide jobs for youths, facilitate adequate healthcare, good education amongst other “benefits of progress” if elected.

Tinubu was at the rally alongside APC stakeholders including President Muhammadu Buhari and the party’s governorship candidate for Adamawa, Aisha Ahmed popularly called Binani.

General elections will be held in Nigeria on 25 February 2023 to elect the President and Vice President and members of the Senate and House of Representatives.
