The teenage boy who simply identified himself as Chijindu is currently living with his aunt at Elezuo Street in Okigwe, Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State.

Video footage has surfaced on the internet of a teenager in Imo State, Southeast Nigeria, who was allegedly bathed with hot water by his aunt.

The teenage boy who simply identified himself as Chijindu is currently living with his aunt at Elezuo Street in Okigwe, Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State.

Chijindu, who said he is from Lomara Isuochi in the state, could not remember his father's name but gave his mother's name as Blessed.

The video footage shows that Chijindu's mouth down to his neck was terribly burnt by the hot water allegedly poured on him by his aunt.

SaharaReporters could not confirm the reason behind such heinous brutality, but some children in the victim's neighbours who gathered when the video footage was made could be heard confirming that the boy's aunt had been maltreating him so badly.

"That is how she always mistreats him," they said.

The teenage boy said that his aunt threatened that she would pour the hot water into one of his eyes so that he would lose an eye.

SaharaReporters' efforts to get comments from the Imo State Police Command failed as the Police Public Relations Officer of the state, CSP Michael Abattam, did not immediately answer his calls or reply to the text message sent to him.
