Atiku was in the state to campaign for Oyo electorates’ support as parts of effort to actualise his quest to become the next Nigeria's president.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State is absent at the ongoing presidential campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the state.

Atiku was in the state to campaign for Oyo electorates’ support as parts of effort to actualise his quest to become the next Nigeria's president.

SaharaReporters had reported that Makinde was among the five, aggrieved governors of the PDP, who vowed not to support the party's presidential candidate unless the national chairman of the party, Senator Iyiochia Ayu resigned the position.

The five governors led by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike are Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Samuel Ortom (Benue).

Governor Makinde was not present at the campaign rally going on at the state.

It was also reported that the National Assembly candidates of the party in the state were not in attendance at campaign ground.

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke is expected to lead PDP governorship candidates in Lagos and Ogun states to the event.

However, it was not clear whether Governor Makinde would eventually attend the campaign rally, currently ongoing.
