Clark said that with Obi as President, Nigeria would unite the country with his move to restructure the country.

An elder statesman and leader of the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum, SMBLF, has told the governor of Delta State, Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa to step down as the Vice-Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Clark stated this on Thursday at a news conference in Abuja, claiming that Okowa running as Atiku's Vice-Presidential candidate was contrary to the South-South Forum's resolution that the presidency must shift from the North to the South in 2023.

He said, “Okowa has betrayed his colleagues in the Southern Governors Forum and the south generally.

“This man has betrayed us for accepting to be the running mate of Atiku. Without me, it would have been difficult for him to become governor of Delta.

“What shocked me was that our governor without discussing with any one of us was working with a presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar without our knowing.”

“This man has betrayed us. We all agreed; we held serious meetings that this man had betrayed us. We can no longer trust him,” Clark said.

Meanwhile, Clark had earlier endorsed Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, as his candidate for the February’s presidential election.

Clark said that with Obi as President, Nigeria would unite the country with his move to restructure the country.

Clark believed that the next President should be educated and experienced, and that the South East should be allowed to produce the next President because the region had the resources and education to govern the country.
