This comes after the issues of contention were resolved, according to the union.

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) in Borno State, Northeast Nigeria, has called off the notice of suspension of operations earlier sent to members of the association.

This comes after the issues of contention were resolved, according to the union.

Earlier, IPMAN IN Borno directed its members to suspend all operations.

Mohammed Kuluwu, IPMAN chairman in the state had disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.

“The critical situation as it affect our sourcing and selling of product at lost and the action of the authority to impose the selling of product at a lost price on our side,” the statement had read.

However, the association released another statement on Tuesday titled ‘Re: Suspension of Service’.

The statement also signed by Kuluwa, the chairman of IPMAN in the state, said, “Having meet (sic) with the authority, all filling station (sic) should open with immediate effect continue selling. While the association continue with further consultation and accordingly keep you inform (sic).”

Fuel queues have continued to appear and disappear since January this year despite the hike in the cost of the commodity by oil marketers without any sanctions imposed on them.

The problem has been linked to the increase in the exchange rate of the naira to the dollar.
