Speaking on Thursday at his residence in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital in a media chat with Channels TV crew, Governor Wike also said he is not ready to sit down with Atiku or any member of his camp for reconciliation with the G-5 governors or the Integrity Group under the leadership of the party's National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has maintained that there is nothing like a last-minute deal or reconciliation between the G-5 governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the party's presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The G5 governors are Wike of Rivers, Samuel Ortom of Benue, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia.

Speaking during the media chat monitored by SaharaReporters, Wike noted that he owes nobody an apology to have hosted the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu in Port Harcourt on Wednesday after his (Tinubu’s) rally in the state.

Governor Wike, who was asked if there was any possibility that the G5 governors would have a last-minute deal with Atiku before the presidential election on February 25, 2023, said, “No, we can’t do that; it’s over! We have said it and there is nothing anybody can do about it now. They believe they can win the election. I am not ready to sit down with anybody again.”

Governor Wike said the G-5 governors have their own strategies and “not all of us will do the talking. That others are quiet does not mean we are not together. We know what all of us have agreed.

“We cannot tell you the approach. Forget about what people are saying, the 25th is here. Everybody will see it.”
