Elections: Nigeria’s Defence Chief, Irabor Holds Emergency Meeting With Service Chiefs, Police Inspector-General

The meeting among other things deliberated on the security and arrangements put in place for the forthcoming elections and other security concerns.

 

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor, on Monday held an emergency meeting with service chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, and heads of the various security agencies in Abuja, ahead of Saturday’s general elections.

The meeting was held at the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), in Abuja.

The emergency meeting had the Chief Of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, Chief of Naval Staff(CNS), Vice Admiral Auwal Gambo, Chief of Air Staff(CAS), Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, and the Inspector General of Police(IGP), Baba in attendance.

Others reportedly at the emergency meeting were the Director General of Department of State Services (DSS), Director General, National Intelligence Agency, Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI), among other security chiefs.
