Secondus said that Governor Wike’s move to canvas votes for Tinubu would end in futility.
A former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has said that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State is only seeking his personal interests, adding that the people of the state are wise and have rejected the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.
Speaking on Arise TV Morning Show on Wednesday, Secondus said that Governor Wike’s move to canvas votes for Tinubu would end in futility.
Recall that there have been reports that Wike, who is the leader of the aggrieved PDP governors who identify themselves as G5 governors, is working for Tinubu for the Saturday presidential poll.
However, the PDP ex-national chairman said that “Rivers people have refused to vote for Tinubu,” stressing that in terms of track record, Tinubu could not be compared with the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
“Rivers people are very wise, very intelligent. Wike is seeking for his own personal interest but Rivers people are not going that way.
“No matter the appeals to some chiefs and all of that, Rivers people know the truth and the truth is that you cannot compare Tinubu and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar,” Secondus said.
