Kwankwaso polled 997,279 votes to defeat his closest contender, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.
The candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso has won the presidential election in Kano State.
Kwankwaso polled 997,279 votes to defeat his closest contender, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.
Tinubu polled 517,341 votes to come second while Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party polled 131,716 to come third.
Peter Obi of the Labour Party came fourth with 28,513 votes.
Meanwhile, the Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje is one of Tinubu's supporters and Kwankwaso's political opponent.
