The protest which kicked off from the party secretariat popularly called Wadata House located at Maitama in Abuja had many party supporters in attendance.

The party supporters expressed their dissatisfaction with the election believed to be rigged in favour of Bola Ahmed Tinubu of All Progressives Congress (APC).

The protesters headed toward the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to call for the cancellation of the elections.

Some other PDP chieftains at the protest were Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal; National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu, Senator Abiodun Olujimi and others

Meanwhile, armed security operatives including personnel of the police force and Department of State Services (DSS) were deployed to the venue to maintain law and order.

The protesters who wore black attire vowed not to leave until they had been attended to by INEC officials.

However, the National Commissioner and Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee, INEC, Festus Okoye, later came out to receive the petition from the party.
