Political thugs from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State have brutalised and chased away other political party agents from the Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
SaharaReporters learnt that the PDP agents and thugs drove out all African Action Congress (AAC) agents and other opposition parties in Mbadwem, Mbabai and parts of Mbawa council wards.
“I’ve called the Electoral Officer of Guma who promised to immediately report to the authorities. My concern is that since then, nothing has changed or seems to be changing. Also, the security of our House of Assembly candidate in Guma is threatened as the situation is tense.
“We might not be a party of rich looters and violent tyrants, but we sure don’t give up when it’s a fight for justice, we will stop at nothing to resist injustice and expose corruption (including electoral malpractices and violence). Let this also be a reference point intimating the electoral umpire at the state level. African Action Congress (AAC) cannot be bullied by undemocratic hoodlums in Power. #WeCantContinueLikeThis,” a party member narrated.
