The governor was said to be on his way to his hometown, Masari in the Kafur Local Government Area of the state for the governorship and state assembly elections when the accident occurred.
Similarly, in December 2022, Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s convoy was involved in a fatal accident, which claimed four lives and saw five others sustain varying degrees of injury.
According to a report from the governor’s aide who was at the scene of the incident, the accident involved a Toyota Hilux conveying a detachment of vigilantes that accompanied the governor on his way to Mubi for his political campaign.
The accident was said to have occurred around Fadamareke, in the Hong Local Government Area of the state.
