Governor Abiodun Defeats PDP’s Adebutu To Win Second Term In Ogun

The victory means Abiodun has been reelected for a second term of four years.

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has been declared the winner of the governorship election in the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Abiodun as the winner of the governorship election on Sunday.

 

Meanwhile, before Abiodun was announced as the winner of the poll, PDP collation agent, Sunkanmi Oyejide, cautioned the electoral umpire against declaring the winner of the election.

Abiodun, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the election, polled 276,298 votes while the PDP candidate, Ladi Adebutu polled 262,383 votes.

The candidate of the African Democratic Party, Biyi Otegbeye polled 94,754 votes.

The total number of votes cast is 663,968 while the total number of valid votes is 645,133.

According to INEC, 18,835 votes were rejected.
