Gov. Polls: Electoral Body, INEC Announces Governor Sule Winner In Nasarawa, Declares Kebbi Election Inconclusive

However, Kebbi State governorship election was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Monday.

The Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has won his reelection bid after he was declared the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

However, Kebbi State governorship election was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Monday.

Professor Tanko Ishaya, the Returning Officer for the governorship election in Nasarawa, declared that Sule of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 347,209 votes to defeat David Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ombugadu polled 283,016 votes.

However, the PDP has vowed to challenge Sule’s victory in court.

Meanwhile, in Kebbi, the election was declared inconclusive following cancellation in almost all the local government areas in the state.

 

Prof. Yusuf Sa'idu of Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, the Returning Officer for the election in Kebbi, said there were cancellations in polling units across 20 of the state’s 21 local government areas.

 

The election was consequently declared inconclusive.
