This is coming after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the governorship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Abba Kabir Yusuf, the winner of the keenly contested state governorship election.

The Governor Abdullahi Ganduje-led Kano State government has said that it is still analysing the Saturday March 18 governorship election process and collation of the election results with a view to take actions after.

This is coming after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the governorship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Abba Kabir Yusuf, the winner of the keenly contested state governorship election.

According to the results declared by the INEC, Yusuf scored a total of 1,019,602 votes to defeat the incumbent Deputy Governor, Nasiru Yusuf-Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who got a total of 892,705 votes.

Reacting to the outcome of the election, the state government on the platform of the APC told its supporters to ignore the provocations by the NNPP in the name of celebrations.
Recall that the state had earlier declared curfew after Yusuf was declared governor-elect in an attempt to suppress celebration but supporters of Yusuf defied the curfew.

The Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, assured of the commitment of the governor, Ganduje to protect lives and property.
Garba was quoted as saying that “The APC is analysing the election process and collation of results with a view to taking a decision at the appropriate time. We appeal to members to continue to be resolute, loyal and faithful to the party."
