The suspension of Mr Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, by his Godabawa ward, has been voided by the Adamawa State chapter of All Progressives Congress.
The APC in Mustapha’s ward in Adamawa State, northeast Nigeria, earlier suspended him after he failed to win his polling unit for the party in the presidential election of February 25.
The candidate of the party, Bola Tinubu emerged as the winner of the presidential election and ‘President-elect’.
An official of the party in Gwadabawa Ward in the state, Muazu Kabiri, made the announcement at a press conference in Yola, noting that Mustapha did not commit to seeing the ruling party win the presidential election.
However, the state APC Secretary, Dr Raymond Chidama, told journalists in Yola that the contribution of Mustapha toward sustaining and supporting the party is significant and cannot be overemphasised.
He said: “It is a known fact and worth of mentioning that the contribution of Boss Mustapha toward sustaining and supporting the party is second to none and cannot be overemphasised.
“Therefore, any group hiding under the auspices of the party, which is sponsored by the opposition to come out with malicious allegations at this critical time is highly condemnable.”
“We hereby state that such suspension is unconstitutional, null and void and is of no effect,” he added.
