Court Remands Former Nigerian Banker Over N23.5Million Fraud

The accused, who was arraigned before Justice P. I. Ajoku, by Nigeria's anti-corruption agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Monday, is a former staff member of First City Monument Bank (FCMB).

A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State has remanded a former banker, Fasiku Olusegun Raphael, in custody for alleged theft.

The accused, who was arraigned before Justice P. I. Ajoku, by Nigeria's anti-corruption agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Monday, is a former staff member of First City Monument Bank (FCMB).

Olusegun was arraigned on six counts bordering on stealing and currency counterfeiting to the tune of twenty-three million, five hundred thousand naira (N23.5 million).

 

EFCC's Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, said Olusegun was arraigned by the Port Harcourt zonal office of the commission.
