Junketing Nigerian President, Buhari Goes To Saudi Arabia On Eight-Day Visit

Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, will be departing on Tuesday for an eight-day state visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he is expected to perform Umrah, the Lesser Pilgrimage.

This was announced in a statement released by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Monday evening.

Shehu said in the statement titled “President Buhari departs for Saudi Arabia on official visit” that the President will be accompanied by official aides to the Arab country.

“Buhari will travel to Saudi Arabia on an official visit from Tuesday, April 11 to 19 on his last trip to the Kingdom as President, during which he will perform Umrah, the Lesser Pilgrimage,” the statement read.

This visit will be his sixth and last visit to the Kingdom since assuming office in May 2015, PUNCH reports.

This will be his sixth and final trip to the Kingdom since taking office in May 2015.

The United States, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and France are the most frequently visited countries by Buhari as President.

He has also visited Ethiopia five times and the United Arab Emirates, Ghana, Niger, and Senegal three times.

China, Germany, Benin, The Gambia, Kenya, Equatorial Guinea, Egypt, Mali, Chad, and Germany are among the countries he has visited at least twice.

He has also visited Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, India, Sudan, Spain, Iran, Malta, Rwanda, Qatar, Turkey, Scotland, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Jordan, Burkina Faso, Belgium, Liberia and Japan; totalling over 40 countries and about 90 foreign trips.
