Join AAC If You Want New Nigeria Devoid Of Ethnic, Religious Hatred, Party Chieftain Tells Nigerians

The African Action Congress (AAC) has called on people who want a new Nigeria without ethnic and religious hatred to join the party in laying more "bricks of mobilising, organising and clarity".

The party made the call in a statement issued on Friday by its Oyo State Chapter Chairman, Kayode Babayomi and titled: "Thank You Oyo, AAC Battled Unblemished."

The statement described its leader and candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Omoyele Sowore as a global leader who has remained an iconic standard that no rock can turn off.

Commending Nigerians, especially Oyo electorates who believed in the party's ideology which the leadership of the party vigorously canvassed during the 2023 presidential and governorship elections in the state, Babayomi said they have taken the election as a moment of training and assessments.

According to the statement, Oyo elections have ended with both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) triumphant in both the governorship and presidential elections.

"Many believe nothing has changed really, but we in AAC believe something fundamental has changed.

"The people have absorbed new ideas, and principles, and are showing us that very soon; a brand-new ideological movement would soon be imbibed," he said.

Babayomi said that despite the outcome of the elections, the AAC chapter in Oyo is still grateful to the people - youths and workers for their votes at the elections, "no matter how meagre."

He stated, "We are so delighted that we were accepted as valuable across the board. From houses to markets, malls, farms, settlements, and villages; Oyo people received our arguments and ideas with green light. They blessed us with their experiences, and keep encouraging us to try more.

"We commend all our candidates who stood tall all through. We cannot but salute all our supporters financially and morally, especially the Oyo AAC Diaspora under the leadership of Madam Bose Ojo. We also give our pledge of honour to the global Take-It-Back Movement Director-general, Grandma Esther Oluyide who has taken our case so personally.

"Our global leader Omoyele Sowore remains an iconic standard that no rock can turn off. Thank you all for setting us on this great path of political honour, The (NWC), The South West (DNC) as well we appreciate all the party members and the ever-ready state working committee (SWC) for their doggedness before and during the election!

"Finally, Oyo AAC has taken the elections as a moment of training and assessments. To those who planned to stain our banners and ideals by trying to run off dirty politics on us, we are glad we taught them all erudite activism! For those who believe we would not be able to be compact enough to lead through, our pedantic organizing is a book page already.

"Oyo AAC has just started in terms of party building. We ask all those who want a new Oyo and a new Nigeria without ethnic and religious hatred to join us as we lay more bricks of mobilizing, organizing, and clarity!”
