It was gathered that shortly after his arrest and brief detention in Abuja, he was sent to the Kogi State headquarters of the DSS, where he is being detained without trial.

An online influencer, Saidu Adamu, has been arrested by the operatives of Nigeria’s secret police, Department of the State Services (DSS).

Human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 election, Omoyele Sowore, disclosed this on Thursday.

He, therefore, called for the immediate release of the Kogi influencer.

Sowore noted that the young Kogi influencer popularly known as “Cartoon BoyTV” was recently arrested by DSS officials in Abuja after he returned from Accra, Ghana, on the allegation of criticising the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Edward Onoja.

It was gathered that shortly after his arrest and brief detention in Abuja, he was sent to the Kogi State headquarters of the DSS, where he is being detained without trial.

“#FreeCartoonBoyTV: A young Kogi influencer, Saidu Adamu AKA “Cartoon Boytv” was arrested by the @OfficialDSSNG in Abuja after returning from Accra, Ghana.

“He was detained briefly and then sent to the DSS Kogi state headquarters and detained without trial.

“His detention stemmed from his criticism of the Deputy Gov. Edward ONOJA.

“The DSS continues to disgrace itself by allowing the agency to become a tool for settling personal political disputes instead of security of citizens. The DSS must release Saidu Adamu immediately!” Sowore wrote on his Twitter handle.
