The group stated this in a statement issued by the group’s President, Popoola Ajayi, urging the state executive governor and the police force to take a decisive action against the land grabbers.

A civic organisation, the Centre for Democracy and Socio-Economic Rights, (CEDESER) has called on the governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba, to probe a notorious land grabber, Alhaji Mutairu Owoeye, and his criminal gangs who have been allegedly terrorising, attacking and destroying people’s properties, farm and means of livelihood in the Ewekoro Local government Area of the state.
The group stated this in a statement issued by the group’s President, Popoola Ajayi, urging the state executive governor and the police force to take a decisive action against the land grabbers.
CEDESER went on to say that “the people of Onigbedu, Elere, Ajipatutu, Akorogbo and environ have been living in palpable fears and trepidation due to the activities of a notorious land grabber, Alhaji Mutairu Owoeye and his well-armed criminal gang who has been terrorising, attacking, destroying their properties, farms, crops, and other means of livelihood with bulldozer.”
The statement continued: “We therefore appeal to the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Frank Mba to summon the required courage to deal decisively with these criminals.”
CEDESER also urged the Ogun Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo, to compel the executive arm of government in the state to enforce the prohibition of forcible occupation of landed properties, armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism and other anti-violence and related offences law 2016 or withdraw the sections dealing with land grabbing.“
“We also observed that Owoeye and his gang go about with persons in army and police uniforms which suggest that some security agents are working hands in glove with the land grabbers.
“We therefore call on the Ogun state Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo, to compel the executive arm of government in the state especially the Attorney-General and commissioner for justice to enforce the sections dealing with land grabbing in the prohibition of forcible occupation of landed properties, armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism and other anti-violence and related offences law 2016 or withdraw the sections for the citizen to plan their own help.”
