Rivers Governor, Wike Meets ‘President-Elect’ Tinubu, Asks PDP, Nigerians To Support Incoming Administration

Wike who made this known on Friday after his meeting with the “president-elect” Tinubu begged Nigerians ad his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to drop their political differences and sentiment and give full support to the incoming president.
 

 

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has once again declared his support for the incoming administration of Bola Tinubu.
Wike who made this known on Friday after his meeting with the “president-elect” Tinubu begged Nigerians ad his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to drop their political differences and sentiment and give full support to the incoming president.
Despite Tinubu belonging to the ruling All Progressives Congress, Wike was said to play a pivotal role towards his success to the expense of his party’s man, Atiku Abubakar due to the internal crisis in their party.
He told journalists after meeting with Tinubu at the Defence House in Abuja on Friday that the time for politics was over and as such the incoming president needs the support of Nigerians.
Wike was accompanied by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
In the tense February election, Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) defeated Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP).
SaharaReporters had also reported that Tinubu had accepted an invite by the Rivers State Governor to commission several projects in the state.
The “president-elect” made this known on his verified Twitter account on Thursday, revealing that he would honour Wike's offer to launch some projects in Rivers State.
The Rivers governor had invited Tinubu in a letter dated April 8 to commission the Rumuola/Rumuokwuta Flyover and the new Magistrate Courts Complex on May 3 and 4.
The Rumuola-Rumuokwuta flyover, which connects Rumuola Road to Ikwerre Road, is the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike's, 12th flyover erected since 2019.
Wike confirmed the “President-elect’s” visit to Rivers during an inspection tour of the Rumuola-Rumuokwuta overpass and Magistrates Court building in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
