The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi says that "President-elect", Bola Tinubu, would have been a great candidate 20 years ago if he (Tinubu) had been elected president.
Obi who stated this on Tuesday, during the 63rd birthday get-together of ace businessman and publisher, Dele Momodu in London, adding that he confronted the All Progressives Congress, and asked the ruling party why they did not field Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as its presidential candidate for the 2023 elections.
The LP candidate in a short video shared by Momodu on his Instagram page, told his audience that the person the APC brought out (Tinubu) might have been a great candidate 20 years ago, adding, however, that the country at this hour needed someone who could work round the clock.
He said, "I’m interested to see Nigeria work, I don’t hide it; any day, anytime.
“I even confronted APC, asking why didn’t you bring Osinbajo? Let’s have the place working for everybody, so that we have people who want to work for the country and are healthy and good.”
