Kabir-Muhammad who contested and lost a senatorial bid for Nasa1arawa West in Nasarawa state in the last election, survived an attack by gunmen at his residence in Keffi, in the Keffi Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.
A senatorial candidate of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) in Nasarawa state, Wakili Kabir-Muhammad has reportedly narrowly escaped death.
Kabir-Muhammad who contested and lost a senatorial bid for Nasa1arawa West in Nasarawa state in the last election, survived an attack by gunmen at his residence in Keffi, in the Keffi Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.
He had filed a petition before the Election Petition Tribunal challenging the declaration of Ahmed Wadada of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), as the winner of the Nasarawa West Senatorial District by the Independent National Election Commission (INEC).
A family member who spoke on condition of anonymity told SaharaReporters that armed men stormed the residence of Kabir-Muhammad and fired sporadically.
"Luckily, he escaped through the back exit," the family member said.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the police command in the state, Nansel Rahman said the police were not aware of the incident.
"The incident was not reported anywhere, so we're not aware of it," he said.
