What I Discussed With Former UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair During His Visit –Tinubu

SaharaReporters earlier reported that Blair arrived in Nigeria on Tuesday and visited Tinubu at the Defence House in Abuja.

Nigeria’s ‘President-elect’, Bola Tinubu has disclosed some of the things that formed the basis of his discussion with former UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair on Tuesday.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that Blair arrived in Nigeria on Tuesday and visited Tinubu at the Defence House in Abuja.

Blair’s visit to Nigeria comes about a week before Tinubu’s inauguration, which is scheduled for May 29.

Tinubu, who later posted some pictures taken during Blair’s visit on Twitter, said, “I received former British Prime Minister and founder Tony Blair Institute for Good Governance, Mr Tony Blair, at the Defence House, Abuja, earlier today.

“We discussed areas of mutual interests and how Nigeria can continue to benefit from the amazing work of the Institute.”

Earlier on Tuesday, SaharaReporters reported that US President, Joe Biden, in a statement released on the White House’s website on Monday announced a nine-member delegation to attend Tinubu’s inauguration.

 

 

 

The statement said the delegation, which will be led by Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, Marcia L. Fudge, represents the commitment of the United States to strengthen ties and maintain diplomatic relations with Nigeria.

 

Other members of the Presidential Delegation include David Greene, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., U.S. Embassy Abuja; The Honorable Sydney Kamlager-Dove, United States Representative (D), California; the Honorable Marisa Lago, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, U.S. Department of Commerce; General Michael E. Langley, and Commander of U.S. Africa Command, the Honorable Enoh T. Ebong, Director.
