Some communities in the Riyom area of Plateau State are currently under armed attacks by herdsmen, as residents are appealing to security agencies to come to their rescue immediately.
SaharaReporters learnt from some of the residents that the fresh attack started on Wednesday evening and the invaders could wreak unimaginable havoc before daybreak.
"Jol village in Riyom currently under attack. We need help," a source confirmed via phone call.
"Another village outside Jos is under attack right now," a resident again lamented.
SaharaReporters had on Monday reported that youths and women in the state protested over the incessant attacks and killing of locals.
The protesters were seen in large numbers, wearing black clothes and carrying leaflets, to express their dissatisfaction over the situation in Mangu that has led to hundreds of death in the community.
SaharaReporters had reported how suspected terrorists have attacked and reportedly killed many residents, including women and children at Kubat village in the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State during an assault on last week.
The terrorists invaded the community when the villagers were asleep.
Governor Simon Lalong, who confirmed the incident, had described it as a sad development and directed security forces to pursue and apprehend the attackers.
