The candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2023 presidential election, Adewole Adebayo, has congratulated Nigeria’s ‘President-elect’, Bola Tinubu on being conferred with the highest national honour –Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR).
Adebayo, via a post on Twitter on Thursday, praised Tinubu for attaining his lifetime goal.
“I congratulate President Elect @officialABAT on his conferment as Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic GCFR today. May he uphold all the duties and responsibilities of the highest rank in the land. A lifetime ambition has now been attained. Let Nigeria come first,” he wrote.
SaharaReporters earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari conferred the highest national honour – GCFR – on Tinubu.
The President also conferred the national honour of the Grand Commander of the Order of Niger (GCON) on the ‘Vice President-elect’, Senator Kashim Shettima.
The investiture of national honours and the official handover of transition documents ceremony were performed at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja, on Thursday morning.
The 2023 presidential inauguration will mark Nigeria’s 7th consecutive democratic transition.
