Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have raided Diamond Hotel, Alakia, Ibadan, Oyo State, belonging to the immediate past chairman of the Park Management System (PMS) in Oyo State, Mukaila Lamidi popularly called Auxiliary and recovered some ammunitions and charms.

A police source who was part of the operation informed SaharaReporters on Tuesday that the chairman of PMS in the state had also fled when he saw the heavy presence of police in his hotel.

SaharaReporters reports that Governor Seyi Makinde on Monday through his Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi dissolved the Management of the Motor Park System (PMS) in the state, a development which made members of the union to curse one of the governor's aides, Otunba Seye Famojuro in a video that went viral on the social media on Monday.

Famojuro, a well-known friend of the governor was in charge of Motor Park System in the state.

Other things recovered from Auxiliary’s place were 474 bullets, cutlass and a huge amount of cash.

The police officer who hinted SaharaReporters said Auxiliary fled and dropped his phone when he noticed that police had stormed his Hotel.

According to him, the raid followed information from credible sources that Auxiliary had concluded plans to cause unrest in Ibadan, the state capital on Wednesday, following the dissolution of his committee.

The Disciplinary Committee, Park Management System (PMS) under the leadership of Auxiliary had been dissolved in a statement on Monday, May 29, 2023, saying the dissolution was with immediate effect.

The statement had read, “I have the directive of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde to inform you of the dissolution of the Disciplinary Committee, Park Management System with immediate effect from today, Monday, 29th May, 2023”.

In February, the Oyo State Government introduced the Park Management System to increase the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

It denied the new structure was not in any way a lift on the existing proscription on the activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
